Your ideas and data.

Deconfound is an early-access research tool. There is no operating test kitchen, production service or shipping service.

Exploring an idea

You can explore recipes and submit ideas without signing in. Ordering a recipe trial requires an account so the order and lab report can be saved to it. Guest access uses a secure browser cookie that expires after 30 days; the database stores a hash of its random token to keep records separate. Clearing cookies or changing browsers loses access to those guest requests. On the independent Deconfound site, Supabase verifies email sign-in codes delivered by Resend; passwords are not required. The earlier ChatGPT-hosted site uses its platform sign-in. When you open your workspace after signing in, this browser’s guest recipes and requests are moved into your account and the guest cookie is cleared. Finish any active generation before claiming its results. When you sign in, the site receives a verified account identifier and sign-in email. Email addresses do not automatically link accounts across authentication providers. Sign-in sessions use secure cookies. Supabase and Resend process your email address to deliver authentication messages. Prompts, draft recipes and API activity are stored in the site’s database. AI formulation sends your prompt, selected ingredients and relevant recipe context to OpenAI; contact fields are not included in that AI request.

Sharing a request

Creating an idea or private order does not place it in the operator’s inbox. Continuing to checkout saves your exact recipe, quoted total and accepted trial terms and shares the recipe and preparation with Deconfound’s operator inbox. Supported orders need no second lab confirmation. Completing checkout places the order in “Ordered - Pending Lab.” Test checkout collects no payment and does not schedule preparation or shipment. “Send idea without AI” retains a separate sharing form for idea-only submissions. Browser recipe-service orders use your verified account email for order coordination; reports are available in Orders & results. If you select shipped samples, we also store the recipient and delivery address in the shared order. These details are used for the order, not marketing, and are not sent to the formulation AI. Other idea-only submissions store your email only if you choose to allow an email reply. We do not automatically email you or promise a response.

Shipping estimates

We remember your last successfully recognized delivery ZIP code in this browser for 90 days, so you do not have to re-enter it for each recipe. You can change it at checkout or clear it by clearing this site’s browser storage. City and state are looked up from our local copy of GeoNames postal data, used under CC BY 4.0; no external ZIP lookup service receives it. Shipping estimates use approximate distance from our San Francisco origin and include cold packaging and an overnight allowance. They are planning estimates, not carrier quotes or a guarantee of address deliverability.

Withdrawing and archiving

For an idea-only submission, withdrawing in Orders & results removes its shared prompt, draft snapshot, notes and reply email from the operator inbox. A minimal receipt remains for duplicate prevention and abuse limits. The original saved idea or separate private bench record is not deleted.

For a recipe trial order, withdrawing an active request asks the lab to cancel it and puts new preparation and dispatch on hold for review. It does not erase the order or automatically refund a payment. The recipe, accepted terms, batch records, photos, corrections, transaction history and any recorded delivery details remain accessible to you and authorized operators.

A completed, cancelled or closed trial order can be archived from your order list. Archiving clears its reply email and contact permission, but preserves operational history, including any recipient or address information already recorded for delivery. You can still access your owned report directly. Retrying an earlier request does not restore it as a new submission. Saved records otherwise remain in the database; there is no automatic record deletion currently. Expiration of guest access does not delete submitted content.

Access and limits

Your private records are separated from other visitors. Only authorized operators can view shared requests or enter lab evidence. The site owner also administers the underlying database. Please avoid submitting confidential, sensitive or personal information in beverage prompts or notes.
